About the location

Alte Kongresshalle in Munich

The Alte Kongresshalle München is a historic cultural and event venue located in the Schwanthalerhöhe district of Munich, on the grounds of the former Munich Trade Fair. Built in 1953 by the architects Ernst Etzold, Emil Freymuth, and Josef Strobl, the building is considered an important example of post-war modernist architecture and is officially listed as a protected monument in the Bavarian heritage register.

Today, the Alte Kongresshalle serves as a prominent location for conferences, cultural events, and public gatherings. The venue features a large auditorium with seating for up to 850 guests and a spacious stage, complemented by a representative entrance hall with an open gallery. Following extensive restoration and modernization after 2004, the building preserves its historical character while offering contemporary facilities for international events.
